　今日の夜、20時すぎから…今年最大の天体ショーが起きます。

　その名も…
スーパー・フラワー・ブラッド・ムーン(皆既月食)が見られます。
　皆既月食とは、満月の日に、太陽と地球、月が一直線に並び、月がすっぽりと地球の影に隠される現象です。
　「皆既月食」自体は約３年ぶりで、晴れていれば全国各地で見られるとのことです。

　しかも今回の「皆既月食」は、今年一番地球に接近するスーパームーンのようです。
　皆既月食によって、月は赤い色、または血の色のようになります（ブラッドムーン(血の月))。皆既月食の間、太陽光は間接的に月に到達し、地球の大気を通して月を照らします。大気は青色の光を止め、赤またはオレンジの光だけを通過させます。その結果、満月は地球からの観測者には血の赤色に見えるというのです。
　さらに、今の時期は気候も暖かくなり、多くの花々が咲き乱れることから、５月の満月をフラワームーン(花の月)と呼んでいます。

　というわけで、本日！！
　５月の満月で、最も地球に接近した、赤色に染まった皆既月食が起きるので、スーパー・フラワー・ブラッド・ムーンというのです。

　ちなみに、スーパームーンと皆既月食が重なることは珍しく、前回は2015年9月28日(スーパー・ハーベスト・ブラッド・ムーン(日本では観測できず))でしたが、次回は2033年10月8日（スーパー・ハンターズ・ブラッド・ムーン）まで起こりません。ぜひとも、本日20時09分から始まる今年最大の天体ショーを楽しみましょう！
　ただし、今日の天気は、梅雨の合間の晴れのち曇りとなっていますが、雲と黄砂の影響で空は霞がかっています。夜からは雨の予報にもなっているので、とにかく晴れることを願っておきましょう。

　毎年行う研修のひとつに、救命救急講習会があります。
　先生たちだけでなく、生徒のみなさんにも実施する予定でしたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大防止の観点から今年は先生たちだけで行いました。
　生徒のみなさんの命を預かる学校は、日ごろから命を守るための研修を行います。実際に緊急事態にならないようにしていきたいですが、万が一のことを常に考え、先生たちも訓練を行います。
